A Lovely Bering’s Couple – The Future Dunegan’s!

In 1998, Elizabeth Petersen and Joshua Dunegan met while wearing high-rise tube socks and playing soccer at Second Baptist Church. Elizabeth’s father was the soccer coach and was unaware of the romance between little Elizabeth and Joshua. Well… Everyone was unaware of their romance at this point, even Elizabeth and Joshua.

Elizabeth and Joshua reconnected at Second Baptist’s College Ministry when Elizabeth moved here for Nursing School and Joshua was on summer break from Baylor Law School. A few years later, they began dating once they met again at Second Baptist’s Young Single Adult Ministry.

The Proposal!

Elizabeth’s favorite spot to de-stress from Nursing School was the Japanese Gardens at Hermann Park. Joshua would often accompany her there or the Museum District to walk around and get some fresh air! Elizabeth was unaware, but Joshua had the engagement ring for a couple of months. He was planning the perfect engagement day – and it was perfect in every way! Joshua’s mom works for Second Baptist and asked Elizabeth to help with a Church video shoot as an extra. Elizabeth gladly agreed and when she showed up, Joshua was standing there – Elizabeth assumed he was going to be an extra as well (despite him being in a jacket and slacks!) Joshua brought Elizabeth over to a beautiful spot in the park and asked her to spend forever with him! Of course, she said YES! Joshua had organized a secret photographer, a dinner with their entire families, and a surprise engagement party with all of their friends!

The Newly Engaged Couple!

Elizabeth and Joshua are getting married on June 6th, 2020 at Second Baptist Church and their reception will be at Lakeside Country Club. Their wedding colors are pink and gold!

When we asked what prompted this couple to register at Bering’s, Elizabeth explained their family traditions associated with registering at Bering’s. She loved the simplicity of registering online, but also the ability to get professional help inside the store. They are ordering their wedding stationery from Bering’s and our stationers really enjoyed working with this lovely couple!

This couple will not have any wedding blues, as they will be headed to St. Lucia for 11 days for their honeymoon!
