Meeting Mr. Right and Ms. Right is not easy! However, when you share many similarities such as the same university, the same love for college activities, and eventually residing in the same city, Houston, TX – the odds of meeting go up exponentially! It was inevitable that these Texas A&M alumni’s paths would cross, only crossing paths would eventually lead to one truly spectacular path!
With a wedding coming up next weekend, Kate was kind enough to carve out a little time to provide us with some much needed details for this blog post. That is right, May 3, 2014, is Kate and Justin’s wedding date! With so much excitement we are looking forward to sharing a little about this wonderful couple.
The two actually met while attending Texas A&M University. They ran in similar friend circles and were extremely involved with their majors as well as student organizations. However, after graduating, Kate moved to Washington, DC to pursue a career in press on Capitol Hill. Justin moved to Houston and put his PAID (Professional Association for Industrial Distribution) major to good use!
Years later, Kate moved back to Houston for a fundraising position and was out with girlfriends watching Texas A&M play Missouri at Pub Fiction. (The Texas A&M game watch bar!!) She and her girlfriends couldn’t find a place to sit UNTIL Justin walked by. He recognized her from college and invited Kate and her friends to join his group of friends. About two weeks later, Justin eventually gathered up enough courage to ask her out and the rest is history!
After a period of dating, Justin quickly realized they had something special and started putting the wheels in motion to plan a special engagement for Kate. He had been planning a date night all week for Friday evening. Upon Kate’s arrival at Justin’s house, they were about to leave when he asked her to take a look at how he had rearranged the China cabinet. While Kate later admitted that she thought it was a slightly random request, she brushed it off and gladly took a look and added, “Whatever he wants!” She walked over and there in the beautiful light was a ring box with her engagement ring! …Not so random after all!!
After being taken aback with a rush of joy and excitement by what Kate was looking at, Tank proceeded to tell her how much he loved her, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He then got down on one knee and proposed! …PERFECTION!
“Diamonds are forever” is definitely the case with the ring Tank selected for Kate. She was beyond thrilled with his great taste, but material beauty aside; her engagement ring is even more special considering that it includes one diamond from her grandparents, one from her parents, and the center oval from Justin! A nice family touch always makes it even that much better!!!
The beautiful couple is getting married at Artista, in downtown Houston. With classic wedding colors of white and silver, the two are sure to glow even more in their wedding pictures! White with silver is such a nice choice!
When we asked Kate why she decided to register at Bering’s she replied, “Growing up in Houston, Bering’s has been a staple in the community with a wide selection of items.” Thanks, Kate! We are so happy to hear you say that. Kate and Justin also decided to have some wedding stationery done with Bering’s. Don’t you love their thank you cards?! The cheerful red is a nice complement to their wedding colors of white and silver! (*This is an example of their thank you cards.)
Here are some of the items the two registered for:
Coffee anyone? Yes, they received the memo that Bering’s brewed coffee is delicious, and even more so when prepared with the Bodum Chambord Coffee Press!
They are sure to serve up some tasty bites with their Le Creuset cookware!
The couple “clearly” has amazing taste with their selection of Waterford’s Lismore Nouveau as well Diamond patterned decanters! These will look gorgeous for decorative use, and will always be nice touches when hosting friends and family!
If you aren’t already seeing little cherubs shooting arrows, then perhaps hearing their honeymoon will be in Jamaica will complete the mental picture!! So very romantic and a wonderful get-away!!
