Whether you were married a month or 20+ years ago, the lovely fine china, silver and crystal you and your fiance selected for your wedding registry doesn’t have to be a thing of the past. While your nuptials are a blessing, we know many of you enjoy your formal as well as casual place settings that were part of your registry, and would love to have a full set. We also know that while some of our Bering’s couples are fortunate enough to receive their compete sets, many receive part  but not all of of their sets. Still others receive family sets, but find a few pieces are missing – or would like to infuse another pattern with them as a way to make it more their own style. From full to partial sets, or a set on a wish list – we have a few suggestions to consider in order to help you fill out your dining table for your next get-together!

Since fine china, silver, crystal and most tabletop items are not essential to our everyday lives, it is often secondary on the list of things to purchase. We get it! However, while your wedding registry might be a thing of the past, it is still alive and well when it comes to gift ideas for your immediate family. We have prepared some helpful tips to closeout your wedding registry.

For starters, simply tell your spouse how much you’d love to close out your registry and email him the link. The same applies to your parents. A teacup and saucer, or dinner plate makes a great Valentine’s, anniversary, birthday or Christmas gift!

If you have been given your family pattern and either want to add to it in order to make a setting for 12, or would like to mix-and-match two or more patterns to make it a bit more contemporary there are options, too. While letting your spouse or family know what you have in mind to achieve a full or updated set, it might seem a bit more difficult to achieve since you most likely do not have a registry on file. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Visit us online or in-store and create a “Just Because” registry (yes, we really do have this option).
2. Visit us online or in-store and bring in a few of the pieces you have. Then place them with another pattern to see what works for you.
3. Every so often purchase a piece or two and you will eventually have a set!
